All that’s left is the formalities

Posted by Brian under: School Thoughts .

Maybe I should hold off on this post for another thirty minutes, just incase…. but I’ll go ahead and assume that I have graduated. The deadline for lowering our tentative grades is noon today, so assuming that none of my teachers log-in and put down an “F”, then it will all be over except the formalities. It’s overcast today, but hopefully that will help it to stay cool, and at the same time, hopefully it won’t rain on the University Ceremony tonight. I guess it’s good that it’s not like highschool and we don’t all graduate at once. We have the main speaker tonight, and we all sit down there, and then tomorrow we have ceremonies for our college where we actually get your diploma and they call your name. Engineering is still a huge college, and it will take a few hours I’m sure. Maybe I should try to get graduation presents before I make my relatives sit through some of the most boring hours of their life. I think that they should break the graduations down even smaller, to the individual departments for big colleges. Every person that is there, is only there to see one person. Why make them wait through the hundreds of other names just to hear one? Anyways, I better get a shower and start cleaning before the family rolls in.

I know what you are talking about. I have set through 3 college graduations for my son. Reg. college, Masters and then his Doctorate. I never want to see another one, unless my grandchildren.
