National Day of Mourning?
Posted by Brian under: My Thoughts; Politics .
I know it’s late, and I was supposed to go to bed about a half hour ago, but I turned on the computer to look up some stuff, and remembered what I was thinking about earlier to post to the webpage. I don’t know if you are aware of it or not, but this Friday, June 11th, is a national day of mourning for the US Postal Service. There will be no mail delivery, and basically nothing will get done by this under-efficient, over-budget federal waste of money. There is a reason that UPS and FedEx can turn a profit while the USPS doesn’t: They work no matter what. They don’t shut down the entire operation for a holiday. Sure some people may have off, but I guarantee you they wouldn’t be making money if they took as many holiday’s as the Post Office. It’s not like the people that have the day off will be “mourning” for Regan. They could care less, all they know is they get to sleep in late, drink some beer and get a jump start on their weekend, all while getting paid (I’m sure it’s a paid holiday). If they really wanted to do some good, they could all mourn the death of Regan by working for free on Friday, and donating all the money in wages to some Alzheimers research place. I hope the power company turns of all postal worker’s electricity tomorrow because they are taking a day of “mourning” also.

Gosh, I have lived a long time and I never knew about this holiday. I guess I have had my head under a rock or something. I wonder if I could get a job at the post office!!!!!

USPS? Don’t you mean the government? Bush ordered to close Federal offices and excuse all Federal employees from duty. At my work since we work indirectly for the goverment we were thinking we should have the day off as well
