Report from the Field
Posted by Brian under: Work .
Well this is the only time this week that I will have internet access while I’m in Virginia. We have it at work of course, but I really can’t justify writing to the webpage as “concrete work”. So I’m here at a Kinko’s with free internet looking up the weather, checking email, and writing to the webpage all at once. I’m not sure why they gave us a hotel room without internet, considering there is one right down the road that has it, and isn’t any more expensive. Oh well. This week has been another week of early days, starting at 4 or 5 each morning. The only good thing about that is that I get off earlier, and then I can hang out at the hotel room and read a magazine, or play PS2. This weekend I’m headed to Tech for the NC State game. It’s interesting that it’s just about the same number of miles from here to Tech as it is from Spartanburg to Tech. I’m torn on which route to take to Tech. I could take all interstates (85,95,64,81) but I would have to go about 20 miles out of the way. Or I could take one road (460) all the way to Tech, but it would most likely go through every small town and stop light between here and the other side of the state. I think I’m going to meet Val halfway this weekend so we will have some company, and that requires the interstate. But next weekend I think I’ll take the one road all the way across the state, just to see how it is. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
