Whadda ya Think?

editors note: I wrote this entry a few days ago, but forgot to post it. I was trying to spread out my posts, so that there would be a few a week, but not a bunch in a row. Oh well, here it is now.
It’s my new idea for a restaurant: You don’t order anything, they just bring you what they think you will want.
The idea stems from a recent experience I had while out to eat with Val, Uncle Mark, Aunt Laurie, and Michael. I ordered a calzone with two toppings- meatball and mild peppers. As I took a few bites of my calzone, I noticed that these were not meatballs nor mild peppers inside, but instead pepperoni’s and ham. About two bites into the meal, the waitress came carrying another calzone and informed me that she had brought me the wrong one. I declined the chance to have the one I had ordered, and instead stuck with the new one. It was pretty good, and it wasn’t what I ordered, and that’s when the idea hit me. What if I could go to a place where they would just ask me how hungry I was, and then bring me something to eat? It would be a way for people to break out and try new things. Most things at a restaurant aren’t bad tasting, and you might discover a new favorite. Everyone else that I’ve shared the idea with thinks it’s a terrible idea, and that people that are allergic to different foods will surely be suing my restaurant, but I’m still not convinced it’s a bad idea. What do you think?

Keep your job. I would not eat there because I don’t eat much meat. Just give me good veggies and I will be happy.

The restaurant could have a form you fill out in advance that would let them know exactly what food products a customer is allergic to as well as an “I won’t sue you if I am not satisfied” agreement to sign. Not a terrible idea, but not a very good one.
