Another Movie

Posted by Brian under: Politics .

If you can even call this crap a movie. Watched Farenheit 9/11 the other day to see what all the hype was about. I could only watch half of it before I had to take a break for a while before coming back to the second half. I will say I didn’t think that it lived up to all the talk that it generated. There is no doubt what Michael Moore believes about President Bush, and he’s happy to try and lead you to the same conclusions as him. He does this by telling little bits of different stories, then overlaying them with some music and sometimes him talking where you should be connecting the dots and realizing that Bush and the Bin Ladens are colluding in one big conspiracy. There are tons of websites that point out what is true and what is implied in the movie, so I won’t go into that here. I just have to say that after watching the movie, I didn’t change my mind and think that Bush was a terrible man, or that the whole war thing was just created to make a few people rich. I give it a half a star for some decent music during the movie, and for a few entertaining candid clips of our president.

You’re very lame. That movie makes you think. It doesn’t matter if your republican or democrat, it will make you think and get you talking. Bush is awful and so are you (i would personally cringe at a parallel between me and Bush, but you probaly like it, euw)

I agree that Moore used a narrow perspective to present the facts in his movie. Farenheit 9/11 was very powerful in exposing little known truths about our president, his circle of friends, and there business and political connections throughout the world. Many issues which seem to have been ignored by most media outlets were brought to a large audience all at once thus generating a great appeal for the movie by those opposed to Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. It is troubling to some that they call it a “documentary” when to them it documents little more than Moore’s opinions.

My personal opinion is that Farenheit 9/11 is a good expression of someones opinion but it should have been less about that and more about exposing FACTS. I strongly disagree with the person who made the comment “Bunch of lies…”. The person who said this clearly has not educated themselves on the subject. It is the failure of Moore in presenting the FACTS along side his OPINIONS instead of simply documenting those facts. This failure only adds to those uneducated opinions. Whatever one thinks of the movie lets not forget that those facts are TRUE. If you question them you need to watch it again and do some research for yourself.
