Not Dead

Posted by Brian under: Apartment Life; Atlanta .

Looks like our neighbor Ruth isn’t going to turn up dead after all. All the things infront of her door were gone on Saturday, so that’s a good sign. It’s still troubling that her car hasn’t moved in about a week, but I’m trying not to let my thoughts drift to her decaying body in the apartment across the hall. You see Ruth is an older lady who lives across from Billy and I. I have only talked to her once, and say hi in passing, so I’m not really someone that she would tell if she was going on vacation or something. Even still, I started to wonder about her when her car didn’t move for a few days. The the chineese takeout menus started to build up on her door, and a phonebook was sitting outside it for a few days. I mentioned my thoughts to Billy, and it turns out that he had been thinking the same thing. We haven’t noticed any smell coming from next door, so we are trying not to worry.

In other news, I sold my motorcycle this weekend. I decided that I wasn’t going to ride it much in the Atlanta traffic, despite the fuel savings to be had by commuting on motorcycle. So now it’s in the hands of a co-worker of mine. I hope he gets as much enjoyment out of it as I did. Now what to do with the money from the sale of the bike. I mentioned a plasma TV to Val, but she didn’t seem to think that was a good idea. Something about saving money for a house instead. Boring.
