I can still stay up late
Posted by Brian under: The Red House .
Editors Note: This post is about a week late, but I was on vacation with the mouse and the in-laws.
It’s 4:30am on Sunday morning, do you know where Brian is? If you guessed at a dance party you would be right (imagine the bass pumping eatz, eatz, eatz, eatz, and me pumping my arms to the beat). Wait, this isn’t a dance party, it’s my room. There is no music, but there are some flashing red lights. I woke up on Sunday morning with some strange lights on in the room and coming out of the
fog of sleep it took a few minutes to figure out where it was coming from. Turns out it was from the fire trucks and ambulances in the front yard. And they were there because of the car sitting in the ditch that runs beside the road. I didn’t wake up to any crash, and the car didn’t appear to be very damaged, so I assume that the person inside was O.K. At 4:30 in the morning, there must not have been much going on because every rescue vehicle within a 20 mile radius was sitting on the road in front of our house. I’m not sure how exactly the car got into the ditch, if the driver was drunk, or if they were just speeding. After about 30 minutes, everyone got tired of standing around, realized that the car wasn’t going to explode, and left to find something more exciting. Of course now I’m awake, and I can’t go back to sleep. Stupid car in our ditch. I swear, more stuff happens out here in the middle of nowhere than anywhere else I’ve lived. At least now I was awake and ready for the trip to Florida. More on traveling to Florida in the middle of August in the next post.
